:clap2: Thank you for showing the comparison! You must be so proud of your accomplishment, and in such a short period of time. You inspire me to keep up with those workouts and healthy eating. Now only to hurry up and get by little band put in... hmmmm.

WOW JULIE. You look amazing and are such an inspiration to SO many. Thank you SO much for posting your surgery pics, I'm going for brachioplasty and breast augmentation in March/April 08 and am a little nervous about the arm lift. Your pictures and posts have given me an honest picture of what I'm getting in to. Thanks again and you are absolutely beautiful.

Julie ~

Looking at your before and after pics side by side made me think my mind was playing tricks on me . . . WOW!!! Not that the girl in the before pics wasn't beautiful too, but the after pics are nothing short of amazing.

As everyone else has said, thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.

Julie,

You are beautiful and my inspiration. You should be so proud and I wouldn't let your uncle not recognizing you get to you too much. If you were thin before how long ago was that? Perhaps you being thin, beautiful and all grown up what threw him.

Thank you for giving all of us hope.

=)

I just read this entire thread! I've become so educated within the past 15 minutes...I had no idea what TT even stood for before this!! Girl, you look absolutely amazing! You're just beaming happiness in your pictures. I just want to give you a hug! I truly have tears in my eyes seeing the changes and reading all of the encouraging words on this site. What a great group of people on here! You've become one of those skinny b!tches on the streets of NYC that I secretly despise because of all the fabulous clothes they get to shop for while I'm stuck browsing the plus sizes at macy's! :girl_hug: I have to say, taking advantage of the shopping here in NYC is one of the things I look forward to after banding (I'm set for Jan 7 at NYU)! I appreciate you sharing all the details of your journey! You truly are an inspiration to all of us just getting started on this wild ride. I look forward to following the rest of your story! Best of luck and happy healing!

And if our paths ever cross on the sidewalks of New York, I promise not to trip your skinny ass out of jealousy. :)

Flaunt it, girl! You've worked hard!

Comepickmeup,

I'm so excited for you!! NYU is awesome and I can't wait for January 7th for you. It's going to be GREAT. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, particularly about the NYU process, etc.

And, start saving NOW for all the clothes shopping you're going to do in NYC. I think I spent about $9-10K on clothes last year (so embarassing) and none of them fit! SO sad, but SO fun. I spent about $5K in one week, the week I got to a 12/14 after my TT. That's when I felt thin for the first time. Of course, I wound up losing 60 more lbs after that...Then when I got to a 10/12, I made the mistake of discoverying BERGDORFS. Oh my....danger, my friend. I still haven't set foot in Barney's EVER. I'm waiting for my last PS so that at least if I go broke, it'll be on things in my final size, whatever that may be! Haha.

Julie, I have just begun this journey, and I am sneaking up on 40 pounds, at two months out from my surgery. I want to loose about 100 more.

I just wanted to ask you this....do you feel like a thin person? Do you find that you are treated differently? What do you mean when you say your head is playing "fat girl tricks" on you?

You truly are beautiful on the outside, but more importantly, your willingness to share your story and to offer your support to others suggests that you are, and have always been, just as beautiful on the inside.

I have not idea why things I typed showed up funny, with extra words and symbols. This has never happened before, please forgive me.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
