HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Julie, you look fabulous. I bet you feel great as well. You are such an inspiration, with the running as well as the plastic surgery. It makes me think that one day it really can and will happen!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story, and of course, your pictures.

Have a great Holiday.

Cindy

Pics from today's shopping spree! Can't believe it's 25 days to my LAST PS -- woohoo!

Scar pics within the week -- promise. They're turning out ok (knock on wood). The place that dips low on my backside is still pretty raw, but other than that, there's only one place where the scabs haven't fallen off. I bet they do within the week. Come on, recovery!

OH Julie - I missed this whole thread until now! I've been absent (minded) most of this month..............did look at the other first PS thread a couple of times and wondered????? Thought it was not like the Julie I know and love to not keep us up to date...............................

I'm crying right now for you....................honestly the tears are flowin....................you are truely my band child and I am so filled with emotion about how gorgeous you are. You are the inspiration for us all.....................everyone, you have to know how hard this beautiful young woman has worked the past year and 1/2 (we're band month sisters (rather mother and child) of April 2006)......................she pushes her body to the max with exercise, while being the poster child for doing the right thing with her band............while working "hours and hours" at her job and then going thru all the pain of the psurgeries....................Julie - you are an awsome role model for us all! On to Dec 20th and then to life as it should be lived - with happiness, love and no more pain - emotionally and in the body.

Julie every time you post new photos, I just sit looking at them for a few minutes in awe. You have done so incredibly well and as everyone else has said, you look fantastic - but you are beatiful both on the inside and out. You truly are an inspiration for those of us coming up behind you heading towards similar surgeries in our futures. Thank you once again for putting yourself, your heart and your life out here for us. It is truly appreciated.

Would you be able to post here a good before/after?

Sure -- both of these pics are elsewhere on this thread, but maybe it helps to put them together and crop them so that it's easy to compare -- wow, I hadn't done that before. My "after" looks like I stretched my length with photoshop or something, doesn't it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
