I’m doing well, I feel I’m a bit on the slow loser side but at least it’s coming off. And I guess to be expected since I am a revision. Best thing I can tell you is to walk as soon as you can. And as much as you can. Don’t worry about anything in the beginning except walking and Water. They gave me these little one ounce cups and I would line up 5 at a time. With each lap of the living room I’d take a shot. And repeat. It was the only way I could get liquids in.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes and walk walk walk!

I had SIPS surgery on 10/18/17 in Kentucky. Still getting use to things I can and cannot eat. Have gas a lot and the smell is bad.

Need to find out the name of pills to take to reduce the gas. I do Water aerobics about 4 times a week. Love is.

My Iron is low so trying to fix that.

Good luck with your surgery

Charcoal pills help with the gas! In the beginning months I used them daily til it got better.

Hello!

I did, 08/30/17.

So far, I'm pretty happy with everything!

I'm a revision from band to SIPS, as well.

Best of luck to you!

I was scheduled last January for SIPS, surgeon got in there and had to pull out due to enlarged liver. I had to lose 30+# before he would consider trying it again. I checked in with a liver specialist and was diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver. I am hoping for a go Monday.

This pre-op diet is rough this time around. Contrive and Probiotics have been my friend...

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
