Isabelle11 1 Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) I am the same! Never had acid reflux but now it’s an everyday occurrence. i’m about 5 weeks post op. You just have to take the acid meds apparently the reflux settles down after a while. If you’re like me and not to keen on medication try freshly squeezed lemon juice - drink like a tablespoon twice a day or when you feel it coming on. It sounds ironic but the lemon actually acts as an alkaline and balances the ph levels in your stomach. It will pass, stay strong xxx Edited November 30, 2017 by Isabelle11 1 50+ssallday reacted to this
DaleCruse 756 Posted November 30, 2017 I'm sorry this is happening to you. Each person reacts differently in terms of acid. Some have short-term issues, others longer. I'm three years post surgery & still take Omeprazole in the morning & a Tums just before bed. Good luck!
Mhy12784 423 Posted November 30, 2017 I read approximately 6 months and 2 years are the big markers for reflux to go away due to stomach growth relieving pressure and restoration of the angle of HIS But usually it can be treated or controlled with medication.
