Neens 60 Posted November 29, 2017 For those whose period stopped as a consequence of being obese. I had high prolactin levels before surgery (i have to wait 3 more months to get that checked again) How long after surgery did it take to get back to normal? Im almost three months post op and i haven’t gotten my period since long before surgery, my gynecologist wasn’t worried back then and still isn’t, my endocrinologist says it could take up to 6 months for the body to normalize, and then one of the doctors of the team where i got surgery thinks i should have gotten it already. I’m confused and a bit scared i’m only 26 and i plan on having children in the future.
GoddessMoon 108 Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) I use to not have one..then when it came it was really really heavy. I became severely anemic cause of it. I think your obgyn should be concerned because when it comes it may be out of control since you haven't had one. Marblicious 130 Posted November 30, 2017 Mine stopped also due to my weight, I had my first one about 4 months after the surgery and it was terribly heavy. It is still intermittent and ranges from heavy to light I will be 6 months post op on 19th December. I had a bunch of tests done to check there was no issue and the doctor said it may take a while to normalise. I am also 53 so even though I am not menopausal yet, that may start to play into the reason mine may continue to be problematic 1 Neens reacted to this
