As I was laying in bed last night, I was thinking about once and when I have my surgery and after I have recovered from it, will I ever be able to sleep on my stomack again? I know that during the healing process I wont be able to but just curious about later on.. I HATE sleeping ON MY BACK, but if I have to in order for the LAP band then I am there.. Thanx in advance for any info give...

I've always slept on my tummy, but since the surgery, I've slept very well on my side and have not had a desire to sleep on my tummy. I've read where others have awakened to find themself on their stomach with no problems.

I would say definitely yes!! I was banded on December 7th, and within about a week I was able to lie on my side (left or right) and soon after that, I could lie on my stomach.

I can't imagine that you would not be able to lie on your stomach... regardless of where your surgeon places your port.

Good luck with your surgery..... the recovery won't be bad at all!

Hi Tammy... I am a stomach sleeper as well... I couldn't sleep on my tummy for a couple of weeks after surgery... then... I could but it felt a bit strange because I could feel my port... now... no probs... sleep on my tummy every night!

That puts me at ease a little now lol.. When I was prego, I hated the fact I couldnt sleep on my tummy.. lol Thanx for the replies..
