Shrinkin' Vi's Bandiversary Blow-Out Planning Post #1: Who Wants to Come?

Recommended Posts

I'm still trying to figure out if I'll be able to make it or not, but if I can then I probably need to share a room with Laura -- I need quiet to fall asleep too...i'm SUCH a light sleeper....its irritating to be honest. That's probably why i walk around feeling like a zombie all the time! LOL.

And exactly why do you all think that you're going to be sleeping???

Panda, I'll add you to the list!

How about you, Janiebug?? Yes to being on the list? It obligates you to nothing at this point... just the possibilities & opportunities of the future...

Panda- I KNOW! I hate it, I really do. I kind of feel bad for others that I complain to if I have to sleep with them, but I'm really the one suffering. I hate laying in bed and not being able to sleep. On the other hand, I don't have spend the nights so this hasn't been a problem for a long time haha.

Me & Panda for roomies, you guys got that?? Another quiet buddy :)

And I don't plan to sleep a LOT, but I'm old.. I need my rest hehe.

OK...freaking out. I just checked our testing window schedule and we START testing on the 28th of April. THERE IS NO WAY I CAN TAKE A DAY OR TWO OFF BEFORE TESTING. :) Could I beg my violets to have our get together in May...like the May 10th weekend. I AM GONNA CRY IF I CAN'T GO. Please...if I bring everyone a purple surprise...PRETTY PLEASE. ooooo man, that would suck if I can't go. But we are a Program Improvement school (see why I hate Bush) and there is no way I can be absent before state testing.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...lets do it May 10th!

Ohh and sometimes the DOG SNORES. Her bed is on DH's side, so I have to call her throughout the night, wakes her up for a minute and she normally shifts positions before going back to sleep.< /p>

Would be like May 8-11 if we pushed it up.

I don't care, as long as it's not in between Aug-Feb. :)

Oh but, if we do move it, even though it doesn't REALLY matter, you still owe us all purple surprises!

I am already working on the purple surprises. Hoping everyone else is as flexible as you are. Crossing my fingers!

I just ask you in the regular thread if those days worked for you, I was going to suggest working around your spring break!!! I am extremely flexible----even with my time (wink-wink)

Seriously, as I said over there, whenever, just let me know. I am hoping to get this thyroid thing over with, and maybe even get my TT done this winter as planned, and will be there regardless!!! Rick already told me to GO!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
