Shrinkin' Vi's Bandiversary Blow-Out Planning Post #1: Who Wants to Come?

Recommended Posts

Hi Vi's~~

I will begin working on our 1-year Bandiversary Blow-Out today. We've decided on gathering at a cabin/house on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland from a Friday - Monday in April.

Step 1 = Who is coming?

Once I have an initial interest number, then I can check for a house to hold us all. They have houses that sleep up to 25 or so (w/indoor pools & other fun amenities!).

So simply post your name & in a day or so I'll tally them up & begin the house hunt, which will then result in our dates & specific location & cost per person.

I'll start!: MICHELLE! :) = 1

Michelle - do you have a ballpark figure on how much it's going to be for each of us if we do get 25 violets to go?

Hey guys, I hate to do this, but I can only "Maybe" on this. I'd like to come, but it all depends on how much it's going to be (I can figure it up as far as getting there from here in FL), but I won't be able to give a definite answer until we know about how much it'll be :-(

Ok, here are some *guess-timates*... (all prices APPROXIMATE w/ this year's rates)...

the biggest house (sleeps 28), lakefront, w/indoor pool, 2 hot tubs, sauna, pool table, arcade game, juke box, 2 fireplaces, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers (so top of the line) = approx $200 per person (that's the total for 3 nights, if 28 people go).

Obviously, if fewer of us can go, then we'd get a smaller house w/a smaller price. For instance, here's one that sleeps 24 w/indoor pool, etc., that would be $165 per person...

Here's one that sleeps 24 w/out an indoor pool, but hot tub, sauna, pool table, foosball, 2 fireplaces... it'd be $111 per person...

The one I stayed in last week sleeps 16 & would be less than $100.

So you see... this is why I need a head count first, then I can search on the available homes by size/sleep number, then I can post 2 or 3 options here for everyone to look at & vote on, & then we'll book it.

Even w/the ritzy one, I don't think $200 for 3 nights, 4 days is bad.

Of course, this doesn't include transportation or food or fun... well, SOME fun! :)

Hope this helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
