Nykee Update.

Hi People... maybe you remember me, maybe not..

I have not come to this site for a while.. I got a little reminder in my email. lol

I just wanted to tell about how I have been..

I have lost a bit over 100 pounds... its still off..

Recently I lost 15 pounds in two months, but that was a month ago..

I gave up on candy, that ONE thing, just candy, THAT was how the 15 pounds came off, obviously, as I had not been loosing any weight in a long time..

The band keeps me maintained... I KNOW if I got an unfill (I gag or 'puke' daily)....... I would gain it all back.... But its done with loss... ITS ON ME NOW, and we will see if I take this 15 pound loss and do more with it...

My band is fine.. I had an endoscopy... its been 2 and 1/2 years.

I am still 300 pounds.. so I DO wish I could have a mini gastric bypass..

BUT, I appreciate my band and all it has done so far... MY NON scale VICTORIES are OMG AMAZING..

I was in a wheele chair two years ago... NOW I walk... Thats the big one..

Anyway... thanks for all your support, this is a really nice site.

Hey, Nykee, great to see you! What an amazing NSV, being able to walk after living life in a wheelchair. That right there will go further towards improving your health than anything you can imagine. Just keep walking!

You look wonderful--and it's good to hear your band is OK. Congratulations on your weight loss and keep it up!

Nykee: You look wonderful! I think this site must be helping you as you seem to let it all out here.

that's great!

I just love hearing about the Non scale Victories.

I have surgery tomorrow! Wow! I have at least 100 lbs to lose. I know this is a tool and I will have just the beginning of the journey to deal with for a while, but one day I will be celebrating, as so many do here!

Nykee,

Great to see you! Congratulations on your weight loss and your incredible NSV of not needing a wheelchair anymore.

It sounds like just a few modifications to your diet will allow you to lose the weight that you desire. Good luck in your journey and keep us posted on how you're doing.

Tricia

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
