Bra Shopping

DeLarla, if you really want my used 42Bs, I'll send them! (Guess that shut her up.) And I'm delighted to hear that those pants are too big for you. I have a couple of 20Talls I can send, along with some shirts if you're interested.

One of these years a bra manufacturer will figure out that just because a woman has a 40+ chest measurement she isn't necessarily carrying cantaloupes. We oranges, nectarines and apricots need support too! Raisins, you can do without.

It's the same thing with long-sleeved sweaters. The arms go all the way to the floor. I think of what Vera said every time I check one out..."Who are they making these things for...Monkeys?" LOL

Wait a minute there, Marie. As a tall person, I must protest! It's a lot easier to roll up or hem sleeves that are too long than to stretch out sleeves that are too short. Call me a knuckle-dragger, but I'm always happy to find long-sleeved sweaters that are indeed long.

Yeah, but as a short person, I get a little tired of looking like a 5 year old with my sleeves rolled back (cause you can't cut them off!) And the crotch of pants hang down to your knees. When bell-bottoms were in, by the time I cut off the excess, they weren't bells any more! LOL

Penni, this one's for you!

I went to JC Penny's and asked the sales lady how did they measure for a bra, specifically the cup size. She had the word "supervisor" under her name, so I was assuming that she knew what to do.

Her response was "by looking. I can just look at someone and tell them what cup size they need."

Now you have to understand - Lake Charles is not known for real educated folks here (myself included). So I tell her my story, that Ive just lost some weight and I need a new bra cause Ive lost in THAT area and that the bra I WAS wearing was a size DD cup. So she says (picture this small framed, eldery woman wearing horn-rimmed glasses with coffee breath ) "yeah Honey, youre STILL a DD cup."

Thats it! Thats all she says.

I walk away thinking that this woman MUST be tired of looking at boobs - if she can just look at someone and give them their cup size. Probably seen'em all....

didnt see MINE though!

Anyway Penni, just to let you know... I had no luck with getting information on a "proper fit" today.

I may try again tomorow.

She wouldve had to take those fine glasses off for that. They wouldve knocked the hell out of her.

Paula,

If you are serious about wanting to be fitted correctly. This 800# will connect you with Colesce Coutures who manufactures and custom fits in the privacy of your home. It is not the prettiest, but the best bra I've ever used. They are expensive, but I wear them for years and years. For everyday wear, they are the best support for your back I have ever had. All you have to do is call the 800# and ask them to help you locate a distributor in your area. Buying these bras is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. They minimize without appearing to mash everything down. You can see the difference in clothing, guaranteed! I did work for this company for awhile, but I don't anymore. I just believe in the product and still use it.

Good luck!

I just got this and thought it appropriate for this thread:

If you've wondered why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for, it is about time you became informed: (A) Almost Boobs. ( Barely there. © Can't Complain! (D) Dang! (DD) Double dang! (E) Enormous! (F) Fake. (G) Get a Reduction!

(H) Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up!
