How long did it take you to find out that they did not perform the surgery?

They opened you up and did not cut out your stomach. That is terrible why would they go to all that effort to cut you open and not do it. Curious did you lose weight as a kind of placebo effect.

James asked two clear questions. And you chose to only answer one....I am assuming you want to raise awareness but you've not even said who the surgeon was

Alex also asked who your surgeon was..

I don't believe this..you just found out last year you didn't have the surgery complete. Did you not have any restrition when you ate?

GoddessMoon, this is the first time Ive been on any forum and I've never experienced rudeness like this. If you read my post, I had a lapband years ago and this was suppose to revise that (which was $1000 more) and do the sleeve. In regards to you question, its hard to tell what difference it would feel. What finally happened is the lap got more and more constrictions that I had to have fixed. My gastro dr ordered the upper GI and CT which showed no sleeve before he had to start doing EGDs.

Dr. Cabrera was the doctor. Also, they do not cut you open, its all laparscopic. There were 4 little holes in my abdomen, not a large incision. I think he went in and the scar tissue was really bad and knew he couldn't do it, but never told me and kept my money. Also it was and extra $650, not $1000 for the lap to sleeve, please see attached.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
