Brandy~ 2 Posted October 21, 2007 I have been reading the forums on and off for a while and finally decided to register. I am sure that if my insurance wouldn't pay for the surgery I would be able to finance it if needed. However, I am trying to find out how many have had to have skin removed after they lost the weight or will it tighten up?
nina874 48 Posted October 22, 2007 Hi there, I dont know about HAVING to have the skin removed, but I have already booked my Tummy Tuck and possible boob lift/augmentation. For me it gave me an end goal that I have to focus on,so that I know I will keep up with the exercise/diet thing , kind of like a whole new me mentality. I know that if I lose weight and everything starts sagging it will discourage me, so for me the answer is book it anyway - shallow maybe, but focused -hell yes!!! Chickie 15 Posted October 22, 2007 No one has to have skin removed after weight loss. But some people might like to do so. I had my Tummy Tuck almost 15 months ago, and second only to banding, it was one of the best things I have done for myself. My thighs and breasts have tightened up considerably, but my stomach was a train wreck that no amount of time was going to fix.
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted October 22, 2007 I'm scheduled for a TT in six weeks.
blahblahblah 4 Posted October 22, 2007 according to my trainer, you cannot tighten skin...you can weight lift and re-fill the skin with muscle, but you cannot tighten it...so that is why the stomach is usually the one area that needs the most help after weight loss. There are, however, many other things to be considered...your age, your skin type and how long you've been heavy...There is some normal tightening that happens automatically. Best of luck... My TT and breast lift is what is helping to spur me on!!! Rain
