Chrisann 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Hi, everyone. I am scheduled to be banded on January 21, 2008 in NYC by Dr. Christine Ren. I am planning to go back to work on January 28. Is that enough time? I don't know if I can take more time off than that.
trystelle 3 Posted October 21, 2007 HI-Welcome to the board! I think a week is reasonable for most people. I have heard people go back sooner, but very few who have needed longer. I bet you will be just fine!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted October 21, 2007 That should be plenty of time. I went back in 3 days and did fine. Congrats on your date!
Sades 4 Posted October 21, 2007 My op is Thurs 1 Nov and I was planning to be back at work on the Mon. I will work from home though... I work as a PA for a lge IT co and we can work virtually if we need to. Is that too soon?
Chrisann 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Thanks, was wondering because I have always been looking at the downside of the surgery. Like why people failed and what possible things would go wrong. I read so much about the positives that I want to be prepared for negatives even if I never face them. I have no will power whatsoever, and that is why I am the size I am. BrooklynBandster 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Wow - I'm also scheduled for January 21 with Dr. Ren! We're lap-band twins.
Chrisann 0 Posted October 22, 2007 I am the first one of the day, have to be there at 5:00am with the surgery scheduled for 7:00am. Its because after being on a liquid only diet, my veins recess, and I can't be put under too easily by using the veins. They had to do it in my leg for a colonscopy and it didn't work. so Dr. Ren feels that by being the first one, they have a better shot of the veins in my arm. lovekatz1975 1 Posted October 22, 2007 Dr. Ren did my banding and they gave me 3 weeks off on disability. Lord knows I could have used another 2 weeks because really, who wants to go to work when you can stay home and get full pay? LMAO!
Chrisann 0 Posted October 22, 2007 I could get the disability time off, but I am the Office Manager with a vacation planned the first week of March, so I would be asking way too much. And these people panic if I am not in for a day, God knows what the week will be. Last year on vacation got a 101 phone calls.
