Taz8680 5 Posted November 27, 2017 I read from my surgeon that the pill will be less effective after surgery. What options is everyone exploring or what has been successful? 1 TakingABreak reacted to this

Myaiku_Kuraitani 245 Posted November 28, 2017 I'm on the Depo shot. But I've been using that for years, before I've had the surgery. That works great for me, but I've heard of others using the one you get inside your arm. Not sure how well it works, though.Hw-273Sw-226CW-154GW-130Size- 4 or 6, Small in sweats. Taz8680 5 Posted November 29, 2017 I talked to my PCP who spoke highly of an IUD. I'm not too thrilled about that idea. I have an appt with my OB tomorrow morning. I'll update after the appointment Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
Delete me 7 Posted November 29, 2017 I was on the Nuva ring and it was suggested that I go back to that after surgery. I'll be consulting my OBGYN but the ring worked for me for years and seems like a good choice post bypass. SIPS in Seattle 345 Posted November 30, 2017 I had the IUD but the damn thing up and ran away. Having a hysteroscopy done on dec 28 to find out why I’m having crazy heavy bleeds and doc is going to place another IUD while I’m knocked out. Hopefully this one stays in place. meltingmagnolia 5 Posted December 5, 2017 I was MISERABLE on an IUD, but my doctor has put me on the Nuvaring that I have just begun. I haven't been on it long enough to determine how I feel about it yet. I am highly sensitive to hormones, so we will see...

I used Mirena and the hormones just made me feel like I had PMS ALL THE TIME. I was on an emotional roller coaster. This is much more common than they admit. It happened to several friends and even my own OBGYN. I am not a great candidate for a copper IUD, so I cant speak to that one. I didn’t have a problem with Mirena the first time, other than the fact that it expelled completely.
