pinched feeling in stomach

Recommended Posts

I'm 6 months post op, and lately I'm noticing when I go to sit down I get this weird pinched feeling in the right side of my stomach. it literally feels like I'm squishing/ pinching something inside my body ... it's the weirdest thing, it hurts too, not horribly but like a bruise I suppose . any ideas? I half ass think it's that my gut is more floppy now and I'm just not used to it but it really feels internal.

I had Gastric Bypass on December 12 last year. I’m 11 months out and still have that feeling like you’re describing. I was told it is adhesions ( scar tissue)....

The adhesions can be removed by laparoscopic surgery, but laparoscopic surgery causes adhesions. So no win situation 😪

I still cant do a pull up or hand because it hurts by ab muscles, I get the pinch near my incision sites when I over do it. If it gets bad or feels internally bad, I would see a doctor about it. could be gallstones.

You might be able to break up some of the adhesions with massage but would hurt and I’m not 100% sure. I could just be pulling that out of my ass. I get nerve pain from my incisions at 3 months out. Occasionally when I workout I feel a pulling type sensation.

It’s been a while since you first posted. You definitely need to call tomorrow. My symptoms are different than yours but at 3 months (8/23 sleeve) I developed issues swallowing solids then liquids. Just had a barium study and the radiologist confirmed reflux, two spots of narrowing, and delayed emptying. I won’t know if it’s abnormal or severe enough for treatment till my appt Thursday.

Anyway, my story was just to say we need to trust our intuition. Sometimes when we feel like something is wrong, something is wrong. With your digestive system, better to be safe than sorry!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
