i am a woman. my doctor told me i'll be working my way up to 6 oz - 8oz. i have been eating around 4 or 5. No problems, no full feeling . I haven't had any issues with any food. I can tolerate everything. Which i should feel good about but being that its only be a little over a month makes me nervous. i left a message for my doctor cause i dont see him again for 3 months.

was just looking for some other peoples perspective didn't need to upset anyone.

I would limit myself to 4 oz for now and fill with veggies. Im a 220 lb dude and I can just eat a 4oz tuna steak at one sitting, at 9 months post op. I would never attempt 8oz at one meal anymore. I break my meals into smaller meals to keep my metabolism going all day. So I may eat 2 meals 2 to 3 hours apart, where I split 4 to 6 oz of Protein. This works best for me as I dont like that really full feeling if I eat the entire 4 to 6 oz at once.

No ones upset ? Who's upset the questions are just to try and help.
I don't think he meant 6 ounces this early I would stick to 4 ounces. And try not to worry because your still healing so you may not recognize your new full feeling. I don't eat till I'm full . Sorry for assuming you are a male I thought your name was leo my apologies.

I'm going to be starting my 3rd stage this Monday and in really worried that I won't feel full at all. Right now I'm hungry all the time. True in still on just liquid Protein Shakes but my nutritionist said as long as I have 80 to 90g in Protein shakes I shouldn't be hungry. But I feel starved all the time.. I'm worried I'm going to be the one person this surgery doesn't work on..

Stop worrying prematurely your wasting your energy. Your body is used to eating solid food then suddenly shocked into not eating. People will keep repeating it's different when your on dense protein. Listen to people.

That's okay. I'm a female though . [emoji23] We all worry it's normal but remember stress can hinder weightloss so keep relaxed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
