Sleeve tomorrow😁 I am so ready. I have lost 100 lbs 3 times only to regain. This will be the permanent tool I needed.

Wish me luck.

And to everyone waiting, please hang in there. It is going to be worth it.

Ok then , we are in it together. My surgery is 3 weeks on the 23rd. I have one more week of real food - won't over do it because I meet with the surgeon on the 9th and I'm sure he will weigh me lol.

My preop diet is the liquid Protein Shakes for Breakfast and lunch and then a sensible dinner.

I was weighing in at 229 a few months ago but have been taking Vyvanse for binge eating disorder which is a stimulant (therapy as well) and also taking Saxenda which is a weight loss medication. Victoza is for diabetes and Saxenda is a double dose of Victoza marketed as a weight loss product. I am down to 206 now. I am doing the gastric bypass for a chance at health. I have been overweight since I was 5! I don't know what it is like to eat normally or even be thin.

I am 54 and have diabetes type II, kidney disease, fatty liver disease, gerd, asthma, neuropathy in my feet, glaucoma suspect, cataracts, depression, anxiety and more. I take so many medicines it is ridiculous and borders on embarassing lol.

I am praying that that this surgery and my good behavior will help me to be healthy for the first time in my life.

I will remember you all in my prayers. Let us know how your surgery went and how your are feeling.

Same here. I live in Switzerland. I'm getting the sleeve on 1/16 and there's no pre-op diet. Just the day before, apparently. I'll talk with my surgeon next Monday when they open again after the holidays to check.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
