I have no shame. I am in the midst of my food funeral. If only I were more creative. The best thing I've eaten so far is fruit Roll-Ups (my favorite food) and Cup of Noodles. Oh, and lots of beer. Like I said, I have no shame.

LOL mine is vodka!

Since I have been doing the liquid diet I have been dizzy and have a headache. Is that normal?

Headaches could be normal (no sugar, no caffeine- or reduced amounts) but dizzy seems odd. Are you diabetic? Are you getting enough carbs and calories to keep yourself going? I know it's easy to just want nothing when you can only have liquids but be sure you are getting the right nutrients :)

I am pre-diabetic... Didn't think of that.

I'm scheduled for Jan 16th. I have to go for a weigh in in 2 weeks because the Drs not satisfied with my weight loss. I'm thinking of doing shakes for 2 weeks

I’d do whatever you can stick to. If shakes only makes you feel like you’re going to crack, why not do Breakfast shake, lunch shake, snack shake and healthy dinner. You’ll still lose but it may be easier to stick with.

Good luck, you can do it!

Surgery Date : TBD in Jan 2018
Status: final appts and insurance approval

How is everyone doing? I am finding it kinda hard. To get approved I worked on it,and lost 12 lbs. When I got approved I think the fat kid in me came out. I feel like I am bingeing, i am Not though. Just feel guilty because I am having what I have heard them called food funerals. Anyone else having the same problem.
Feeling off track.

I totally feel like I have gone off the rails! Ever since I got out of the hospital I have been so happy to be able to eat and swallow that I’ve just eaten or drink anything that I wanted. I know when I go see the doc on the 13th he is going to be really upset with the fact that I have gained 5 pounds. I finally ordered my Protein Shakes and am getting myself mentally and physically prepared this week because January 23 I’ll be here before I know it. I have definitely had quite a few food funerals. It’s just an excuse and it really doesn’t satisfy that mental hunger. That’s what I need to work on

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
