Need Financing! Any Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I am restarting my real weight loss journey today on Black Friday, 11/24/2017.

I am a newbie and had my first surgeon visit 11 months ago. I knew going into my appointment that my insurance would not cover the procedure. I was a good candidate and even scheduled a preliminary surgery date, but I had to cancel it (last week of December of 2016). I thought I could cover the surgery until the final price was given to me. I then thought I could get financing from a bank and/or appeal my insurance. Needless to say, both of these did not occur.

My question is, what reputable companies offer financing? What are options for financing? Do any medical provider/facilities offer it? I've done a pretty extensive Internet search, but wanted to ask forum.

I look forward to participating and getting to know many of you.

Thanks in advance!

If you want to stay in the states try CareCredit.
I was approved through Medical Tourism companies but they wanted to add a $2000 processing fee but they would give me a 0% interest if paid in full in 12 months instead of 24. I wasn’t willing to pay that extra so decided to wait. I have heard that a few people have been able to finance and did not mention that high fee. Hope you are more successful than me. I only tried 2 companies and approved by both but neither was enough for the type of surgery I wanted.

I know it sounds silly, but did you ask the surgeons office? I mean im sure they get plenty of cash pay patients and they want the business. So it benefits them to help you out

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
