Everyone is different with their weight loss so I think you're doing well. You are supposed to eat your Protein first and anything else as you can. Do you measure your food? That might be something you want to consider. I'm almost 4 months post-op and just now able to start eating more things at the same time. I haven't ventured into sweets yet though.

Two months out I was barely eating 2 ounces of Protein and a couple of tablespoons of a vegetable. Follow the plan your team gave you. Weigh and measure - it will help.

Even now, I can't eat a "balanced" diet. Yesterday, we ate at a lovely restaurant. I ordered a Caesar salad to start and had about five bites. The server was worried I didn't like it. I said I was saving room. I had a huge piece of prime rib, of which I ate about 3 ounces and the rest went home in a take home box. I had one spoonful of each side. I had two bites of the dessert I was served. (It was a three course, prix fix meal). I'm 15 months out. Sometimes, I can eat 5-6 ounces of protein if I don't eat anything else. I can't eat more than about 1/2 of a very small baked potato and if I eat that, I don't wind up getting my protein in.

Who told you that you have a poor diet? Was it a member of your medical team? If not, tell them you are on the Narnia diet - its Narnia business.

7 weeks post op here. I can barely eat 3oz at each meal, rarely get veggies in. My day consists of a Protein Drink in morning, 3 small meals during the day, then Protein drink in evening and of course Water in between.

If I get a veggie in, its usually a few bites of cooked carrot or the spinach in my scrambled egg. I made a quiche the other day with grated zucchini and sweet potato. It was surprisingly tasty.

I have very good energy level and have been feeling great! Down 32 lbs so far.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
