Secret Innocent 0 Posted January 24, 2008 Greetings, I was banded March 30th/ 2007 at TLBC and have been loving my band! For folks not yet aware, there is now a Yahoo group set up for Ottawa area bandsters for event planning in the Ottawa area. We set our get togethers up, plan for clothing exchanges and have been considering doing one (or however many) charity walks starting this Spring. Please feel free to join up whether you have been banded yet or not, if you travel regularly to Ottawa and are looking to get in with a growing group in the area. This is a link: OttawaBandsters : Ottawa Bandsters Unite! Thanks, Nan in Ottawa
Great North 0 Posted January 24, 2008 I Just Read 2 People Stateing They Were The Youngest In Canada To Be Banded. Who Was It? Confused
Doddie63 6 Posted January 26, 2008 I guess, the youngest in Canada could be interpreted many ways. One is the youngest in Canada for the TLBC clinic. I suspect each clinic can claim the youngest patient in their care. Doddie
loriely 0 Posted January 29, 2008 Hi everyone.I just wanted to let you know i finally feel much better. The operation is behind me and i am at my sweet spot.I have only 2.5 in my band and i have lost 12 lbs ,13 more lbs till my ticker is no more a lie.I will fix it later. My hubby reached his sweet spot at 9.5 so i was comparing me to him at a small fill.I was anxious to get to that amount but i kept having to get defill.Everybody is different so don't compare yourself to anyone. It has only taken me 1.5 years to learn the band.I guess i am a slow learner lol. Isabella 4 Posted January 29, 2008 I was the youngest in Canada when i was banded. I had just turned 15... Now, i'm 16- i'm sure there are plenty of 16 yr olds with it now though. So i guess i'm "youngest when banded" now lol

Living My Dream 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Good luck to you Green and congrats on the weight loss. Lwood how are you doing? Hi Marcar Thanks for asking. I am feeling great since my surgery. I have lost 16 lbs so far but I need my first fill so I'm not hungry. I am trying to eat like a bandster. My first fill is Feb 20 then we are going south the end of Feb for two months so I will miss my second and third fills. Where do you live and what is your name? I live in Ameliasburg near Belleville. Tell me about yourself. When were you banded? I may have read that but I forget. Pm me back soon. Lynda
green 6 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi there Green; How are you doing today? I know you were a little down about your throat. Have you had any more news? 7 more pounds gone? whoo-hoo for you... that must make you feel good eh? what are your before and after stats now? Take care, Peaches Thanks for asking, Peaches and Marcar. My voice is going from very bad to even worse and I am very, very down about this. Talking is a real chore and I have become the strong(ish), silent type as a result! Of course, because I am so depressed my house has become rather foul and my personal grooming is not what it should be. My hair is now two-toned: roots and dye job. My GP figures that I have asthma, and has me on a couple of inhalers. She has also referred me to an ear, nose and throat specialist whom I am going to see in a couple of weeks. I finally got word of an appointment yesterday. I weighed myself at the doc's office and weighed 143 fully clothed and with my boots on. For what it's worth, I also had a full bladder. I can comfortably wear size 10 pants and actually need to wear a belt with them in order to keep 'em sitting in the right place. I also had a bra-fitting - I have been wearing sports bras for past 15 years - and I wear either a 34C or a 36B. All of this is pretty cool but my head sure isn't in the same place as my current measurements. Alas! The truth I still think of myself as a fatty. And I suffer from a strange anxiety as well: I keep imagining that I am suddenly going to blow up into my old dimensions, that I will go to bed one size and wake up another. Weird, eh? I guess it takes awhile to lose the mental weight.... I still do have enormous feet. *sigh* No loss in that department. I have to buy my shoes in the drag queen section. lol And I can only wear flatties. My feet still whine and complain whenever I try on heels. That is one dream which will never come true for this grrl. And that is my life at the present time. P.S. I sure do miss my band. When I get over all of this I am gonna get a fill.
