I actually had the bypass, but I too have experienced super dry skin. It's probably one of the weird side effects from the change in diet and hormone levels. I just slather on lotion every day lol. Hoping someone further out from surgery may have some insight on if this balances back out again at some point.

I have the same issue. I have never had to use lotion, but since getting the sleeve in early October I have had to start. My skin gets unbearably dry now if I don’t use it.

I thought it was just me. I was sleeved on 10/31 and my skin has been so dry. I have dry Patches on my face right now.

I’m 2 weeks and 1 day post op so I’m allowed soft food thank God! I got allergic reaction to the surgical plasters they used and came out in blisters and was really itchy!! I’ve noticed such a change in my skin as it’s so dry that I find body oil a lifesaver!! Try it and see how you get on!

I’m two weeks post-op and am dealing with the same issue. I think it is related in some part to a decrease in Water intake.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
