jacole1820 0 Posted October 20, 2007 :help:i know it all depends on your specific insurance, but how long is a good time line to wait for an answer? days, months, a year?? thank you!
Donnajade 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Jacole - I would say to call your insurance rep and ask them what their approval time frame is. My surgeon's office told me my insurance company would take 30 days to approve or deny, the insurance rep told me 72 hours and I was approved within the 72 hours. Lots of others on this board have said to call your company often and I think that is great advice. Good Luck!
KD8888 0 Posted October 21, 2007 My paperwork was submitted for approval on a Friday. I called the following Thursday, 6 days later. I was told my approval letter had already gone out. It was actually approved in 2 days (BC/BS). I received the letter in the mail that same day. I'm sure each company is different, but that was my experience. Call and ask your company if it has been processed or what the likely time frame will be.
pippinje 0 Posted October 21, 2007 I think the insurance company HAS to have a decision within 30 days, so 30 days woul dbe the max. But like you said, depends on your insurance co.
