lala777o1 5 Posted November 21, 2017 I havent had my surgery yet but I used to do Hot Yoga. Ive been thinking about starting again about a month before i have my surgery so i can get in some more weight loss. Has anyone tried doing it after their surgery? How long should you wait to start to do hot yoga after surgery? It only concerns me because you burn a lot of calories in just an hour class and since we wont be eating many i dont want to be too depleted. FYI, i believe my surgery will be sometime in January
Emailkariann 33 Posted November 21, 2017 I would be careful doing this immediately post surgery due potential for dehydration, not necessarily bc of calorie deprivation. You're at a high risk for dehydration post surgery and you lose a lot of Water through sweat in hot yoga-but consult with your doctor.
Geri Marie 235 Posted November 22, 2017 My personal opinion is not for 4-6 months. Your body is having major surgery. I am currently stuck on a couch because i thought giving the dog a bath and doing laundry was ok 3 days after.....I felt so good....guess not
Mhy12784 423 Posted November 22, 2017 Dehydration would be my biggest concern. And then how sore your abdomen is. Your surgeons answer is the most important, but I would imagine around 8 weeks. Basically around the same time you're cleared for weight lifting and resistance exercises
