I’m a little nervous...

Recommended Posts

So I wanted to vent to people who would understand. As some of you know I started my journey at 540 pounds and wearing a size 38/40 I’m now 18 months out from surgery and weigh 245ish pounds and wearing a size 16/18.

Tomorrow I am flying for the first time since my skin removal surgery. When I flew in April before my skin removal surgery I still needed 2 seats and a seatbelt extender.

I did not buy 2 seats this time and I am NERVOUS!! What if I overflow into the other seat?! I know I’m much smaller than I was I’m just scared nonetheless.

I’m flying with my boyfriend so at least I would just crowd his space but it’s still embarrassing. I’m so scared to get on this plane tomorrow!

Thanks for letting me vent! I am sorry I have not been around much lately. My schedule is going to calm down in the next few weeks so I should be able to post more again!

@Dashofpixiedust8

nice to see you again:rolleyes:

I'm unsuccessful visualizing your appearance

with almost 300 lbs gone.!!

what places did you have skin removal?

tummy, arms etc.???

due to the your excess skin.

IMO no way is a 2nd extender needed.

you are amazing, being such a weight loss looser.

(even though you are a winner!)

more skin removal in the future???

you are close to loosing 300 lbs you can

probably taste it.

you should be a poster girl for WLS success!!

happy flying

keep up the great job.

kathy

I think you're going to be fine! I am 5'9" and currently sitting around 252. I have been to a couple of concerts with seats about the size of an airplane, and I fit fine! You might need an extender (depending on where you carry your weight), but I think one seat will definitely work for you.

Congrats on your weight loss!! :)

You will be fine !! I was 244 at my heighest still fit in a normal seat. Enjoy your trip.

Can I ask. I thought people don't do skin removal till at goal. Will you have to go in again? I'm 189 now. And even though my heighest wasnt super high I'm already really saggy :( so I think I might need some sort of fixing when I hit goal. Especially my tummy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
