Mamasahn 0 Posted October 20, 2007 I have a terrible cold and have been coughing for a few days and today.... Oh my gosh, massive pain in the port sight. I feel as if the stitches are being pulled beyond their capacity or are in the process of coming out entirely. Has this happened to anyone? riseandfall9 0 Posted October 20, 2007 It happened to me. I felt that my Stiches or Stomach were tearing or somthing everytime that I turned. Im not sure how many days Post Op you are but I am about 7 days and it is almost completely 100% Gone. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
LapBandit 5 Posted November 18, 2007 You are probably OK. I have experienced this same sensation after coughing fits too. I don't believe your stitches are in danger or anything. Our ports are tied down into our muscle wall and coughing makes us use those muscles so that's probably what's actually hurting you more...the sore muscle with a port attached to it.
