Random post op diet question

So, this whole relearning to eat thing has gone pretty well so far. The only problem I'm having is figuring out how far apart my meals should be. When I'm at home or work it's not really a problem. But when I'm out I don't really figure it out until my blood sugar crashes. I was thinking a good solution to this would be to keep a Protein Bar in my purse, at least until I have it figured out. The problem is with my program I'm not allowed any grains until I'm 3 months post-op.

I plan on asking about this at my group nutrition class tomorrow but also am curious about other programs. What is your post-op diet like in the first 3 months? Do you know of any grain-free Protein Bars or something else I could keep with me?

When I go out I bring a Core Power shake in the car. I’m still on purée for one more week. And I was out for the first time alone and felt very dizzy while driving. So I won’t do that again.

I'm not sure where you are but I'm in Australia and there is a Protein bar called Aussie Bodies and it's whipped inside like a three musketeers used to be. They are only small but soft. I think the bariatric pal shop sells some kinds too or protein muffins or flapjacks. I am 3 months out and I can eat most things. No dry meats or nuts so most bars are out for me too. I bought a box and ate them but I don't know if I would do it again because I don't want to rely on sweet Snacks again. Usually I have a bottle of protein Water with me.

My plan is totally different. I can’t have any fruit, starches, and/or grains until I get to my goal. I was sleeved 10/11/17 SW 303 CW 276...so that means another 6 months to a year. GW 160. Go figure [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]
