GwennyPenny 108 Posted November 30, 2017 I had no choice because of previous abdominal surgeries and adhesions so I had the RNY bypass four months ago. I have a lot if friends who have had the sleeve and ate happy. I don't personally know anyone who has had the bypass which was why I joined the group. The only one that seems to be a huge issue now is the band. Some with the sleeve choose to revise and have the bypass down the track for various reasons. I'm kind of glad I had the bypass because as the surgeon said I don't need to be doing it again. I had a hiatus hernia that was found and fixed during surgery which was good. Go with what you and your surgeon think is best. Sherry Rice 184 Posted November 30, 2017 Ignore others opinions! Yall should stick with the decision you have made if you feel its best for you. I don't really understand why some people feel their solution should be yours as well. Best of luck ladies 3 Kiddles, tonibella21 and tankheadmommy reacted to this
Paityn 24 Posted December 2, 2017 Everybody is going to have an opinion unfortunately. I myself got the RNY is struggled between doing that and the sleeve. And I just weighed the pros and cons for the future. Like in the long run which side affects of surgery could have the greatest impact. SO the sleeve has a higher risk of acid reflux. My mom gets that really bad as she’s gotten older so I figured if that was to be later in life I wanted to try to nip that in the butt and do he gastric bypass instead. I’m 3 days post op right now. Happy with my choice. I’d say just do that will work best for you. It’s your body. 2 FluffyChix and tankheadmommy reacted to this
