Today i picked up some ensure Protein Shakes the pre mixed ones (milk chocolate) I'll try the powder as well in time. They are a little too thick I think with the next one I'll put some ice in it to thin it out some. Has anyone tried different brands? Do you prefer powder over pre mixed? I've never been big on shakes so i figured I'd start getting used to them now. But any advice on making them More tolerable would be great!

I had someone else say they liked the premier shakes as well i couldn't remember the name of them when i went shopping but I'll give them a try. I'll be attending a Protein night support group this month where I'll be able to sample several different brands.

I'm a fan of Isopure. You'll find LOTS of discussions about Protein here. Good luck!

I just started pre-op diet and absolutely fell in love with Syntrax nectar Sweets Double Stuffed Cookie powder w/ milk. Tastes like an oreo shake!

I also like Premier Protien ... caramel is yummy. I also like GNC lean shakes. My husband loves Iso Pure gourmet chocolate.

I've been using the Premier Protein shakes and like the taste. They also don't upset my stomach. I have to pour them over ice....can't drink out of the container. I like them very cold.

I'm with you, it seems to taste better that way.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
