Had the sleeve this past Monday.

Also sleeved Monday
I feel like fluids I could suck down a solid 4-8 ounces in one shot.
Protein has been a struggle, fills me up incredibly quickly. So I've been cutting down on many of my clears to go full effort on protein.
I get really full and some pain in my stomach (usually short-lived lasts for 1-5 minutes max )
Then I just back off consuming anything for a good 45- hour and try again.
I probably got close to 40g/day of protein the last 2 days, think I'm on track for 60g today which is right where I wanna be

I wish I could say the liquids or Proteins fill me up. Lol..i seem to be able to drink all I want

A couple of things I learned after my surgery on 8/24/17...

Sometimes, the hunger pains aren’t actually from hunger, but from thirst. Make sure you are getting enough Clear Liquids, but take small sips over a period of time, not big swallows. That hurts!

Try to remember, your surgeon removed 80 percent of your stomach through a very small incision, so pain is normal. Really normal. I had more than a few “What the heck was I thinking?” moments for the first few weeks after surgery. Why did I even do this? My recovery was hampered by an extended hospital stay and extreme blood loss resulting in transfusions and major weakness and fatigue.

Also, don’t worry if you can’t get all your food in right away. You’ll be able to eventually. Take baby steps! More important to get your liquid in at first. I’m three months out now and although I get full super quickly, I feel great and am pretty much eating a regular diet. It’s definitely a process.

Good luck, everyone! You’ve got this!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
