I cannot wait until I have my surgery. This past weekend I took a vacation to visit my sister in Cali. It was a 4 hour plane ride from chicago. I could barely fit in the seat. I was so uncomfortable that I could cry. I had 2 different flight attendants ask if I needed a seat belt extender. I honestly felt bad for the people I was sitting next to because I could only imagine what they were thinking.... "Ugh, I have to sit near the fat girl."

I feel your pain, I stop my self from doing many things i like because of my weight especially Six Flags... I knew i wasn’t gonna fit in those chairs. But hopefully for both next year would be a different story.

Hi... I'm new here, but I totally get what you're saying. The last time I flew was a little over a year ago and I was super self-conscious. There are so many things I'm hoping for, post-op, but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. My fear is that I won't be able to have the surgery for some reason, or that something just won't work for me. (That's the worry-wart in me)

That’s exactly what I’m feeling lately.. cuz they are taking for ever to approve. Let’s keep our hopes up.

Aww, I'm glad you guys understand! I just started the process and my hopes are super high even though I know I shouldn't put all of my eggs in one basket. I just can't wait until I'm able to do normal things like everyone else.

I hope it goes well for you both!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
