Anyone out there still wear their binder?

I’m one month post-op and I don’t need to wear my binder anymore for my incisions however I like wearing it to the gym and for work (I have a very physical job, up and down ladders, lifting and bending down). I like the support it gives me.

Anyone else do this?

What is a binder? I didn't have anything like that. I'm 5 days post-op as of today.

Oh yikes I’ve never heard of someone not being sent home with a binder. It is an undergarment (usually Velcro to adjust) for compression and it’s also protects the incision and makes it so you don’t put strain on your stomach makes it alittle tougher to bend down.

I didn't get one of those. They didn't even talk about that during any meetings, appointments, etc.

I don’t remember how long you’re supposed to keep it on for I think I wore mine for two weeks just to be safe so it’s not too late to get one. Call your surgeons office and ask them for info

I am 1 month post-op today. I still wear my binder because I seem to have a lot of abdominal pain if I don't. Feels like something pinching and pulling.

Sometimes I get pain but not pinching or pulling I just get sore

Back support braces look about the same design. It it helps..Why not wear it

I also was not sent home with a binder. Even with a drain for 3 days, I bounced back from surgery quickly.

I didn’t have to wear a binder either, nor was anything ever mentioned of it. I only had to change the little band-aids on the incisions. My surgery was 5 months ago, never had any issues and the scars are barely visible. X

I never had one. My surgeon doesn't use them. Four years out, I did just fine.

I used mine until I didn’t have pain when walking quickly (about 2 weeks). It really helped with pain caused by stomach giggling. After there is no more pain, I’m not sure there really is a need for it anymore.

It helped me walk further, as if I was in pain, I would have stopped.

I’ve had my sleeve 1 week ago today. I haven’t walked yet as still very sore, weak and nauseous. I’m worried as everyone is walking and I’m not able yet. Finding it hard to get in Protein.< img src="https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji22.png" />

I'm not having surgery until January. I've read that some surgeons do these, and some don't. However, my question is.... Do they give them to you at the hospital? Or do I buy one myself?

I was provided with one at the hospital. The one the hospital gives you is always kind of bulky I know some people use waist trainers because they’re think but those are usually EXTREMELY tight and not recommended to wear for long periods of time
