I’m 1 week out! unfortunately I’m going to miss out on thanksgiving which is ok I’m going to go catch a movie while everyone eats. But I hit my 6 weeks 4 days before Christmas and was wondering what everyone ate this time around.

I'm pretty much eating similar to what I have been. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow. I have a shake with double Protein in the morning, then throughout the day, I'll eat a few ounces of deli turkey, some kind of 2% cheese, a crunchy protein snack, Soup or a little bit of something I make for dinner for family. Ground turkey, Beans, cheese goes down okay. Maybe an egg. Usually some SF popsicles

If it were me at 6 weeks at Christmas... I'd eat 1-2oz of turkey and a little gravy. Then an hour or two later go back for mashed sweet potatoes (It's Christmas after all!).

I’m one week out too. I’m finding it hard to drink cubitan which I have to take 3 times a day plus reminding myself to drink Water. It’s tough but I’m optimistic. Haven’t done any exercise yet as too weak. How about you?

At 6 weeks I was in the soft solids stage so I was eating pretty much anything I could cut with a fork, which is how my NUT advised me to judge it. For Christmas maybe try a little turkey deli meat or even turkey salad (like chicken salad but with turkey) or Ham Salad if you are allowed pork, mashed potatoes, squash or veggies cooked to soft consistently.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
