pvalles115 5 Posted November 14, 2017 Hey everyone! So I’m almost 3 weeks post op and I’ve been admitted in the hospital for four days now. My Lipase levers were at 2,000!!! When normal range is 94-374... it went down to 1,000 then 800 and now back up to 900.. I was supposed to get my gallbladder removed today but of course it got pushed to tomorrow since my levels went up instead of down. Has anyone experienced something like this? If so how was the recovery for that compared for the sleeve? I’ve literally been on liquids for 8 days because before I got admitted I wasn’t able to keep anything down.. worst part of it all is I haven’t lost any weight at all since a little over a week post op... like how is that even possible?! So now I’m super sick and not losing weight, I probably wouldn’t be so annoyed or upset if I was at least losing weight lol I know that might sound bad but I’ve gone though all this mess for what feels like nothing! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!! 1 oky2395 reacted to this
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted November 14, 2017 Try not to worry about the weight loss right now. Stay off the scale. You need to concentrate on relaxing and getting well. Your body is fighting illness AND healing from major surgery. You no doubt have lots of inflammation and are retaining Fluid too. Even people not ill usually stall around 3 weeks post-op. Binge watch some netflix, do crossword puzzles, anything to keep your mind occupied. I hope you get the medical issues resolved and then can continue your journey. Good luck. 1 pvalles115 reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted November 14, 2017 Sue is right. You are losing tons of fat right now, but are retaining Fluid (this is normal during times of physical stress). No worries about the scale right now. [Hugs] Get better!! Good luck and a speedy recovery from your gallbladder surgery. 2 pvalles115 and colleen 5595 reacted to this
