Anyone have any suggestions for a decent Protein Bar? One that I can digest without so much sugar that doesn’t taste grainy? Most bars taste like crap, so I’m not sure. I need them in my life. Lol

I love the ones from Quest Nutrition especially these

The code NAQ441 will give you $5 or $10 or 5% off, all depending.

I also love a few from Oh Yeah Almond bliss is to die for.

I used Quest Protein Bars. They have a lot of Protein, low sugar, a variety of interesting flavors and have Fiber. Fiber is important because one of the problems that arises from time to time is Constipation.

That’s a great point, especially since I’ve been experiencing bad constipation lately myself.. going today to purchase a variety of bars.. I’ve been focusing on lots of Water and I have benefiber powder , although that didn’t seem to help much this weekend when I was desperate. Thank you.

GNC has a huge selection of Quest bars. Flavors I wasn't aware of.

I've also been using the Atkins Protein bars which are like a candy bar. They aren't as dense and heavy as Quest bars so I like that. With quest, they are tasty, but if I eat more than half, it feels like a rock in my tummy. I do like both of those, though.

Yeah I️ have a few Atkins ones, those are amazingly tasty. I️ also have tried the quest today for the first time and was impressed! I️ had about 1/3 if the bar as a snack since it is so thick. Got rid of my chocolate cravings. I️ put the rest in a zip lock bag for next time.. Power Crunch bars are incredible too. Taste like a wafer .

I agree with all the posting on Quest Bars. I've tried others and they are really good. They have a new flavor Birthday Cake that is amazing! There other flavors are good too. Vitamin Shoppe has a sale 2 for $4.00. Good chance to try different flavors.

Quest here, too. Great to have in my purse as a go-to if needed. Half is usually all I need, then I'm solid. My husband (didn't have surgery) loves them too. His fave is the Apple Pie. Mine is the Cookies and Cream. We've yet to find the Birthday Cake variety anywhere. He's itching to try that one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
