hollywrites2u 15 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi! I was banded by Dr. Morton. He's fabulous. It's natural to be nervous, but it will be fine really. I had my band done five years ago and lost 110 lbs. but then I slacked off and regained 15. I'm getting the first fill I've had in years in Feb. I feel badly that I've not appreciated the band as it really did change my outlook and how I feel so much. You'll do great! Looking forward to hearing more about your journey. ready2loose 0 Posted February 29, 2008 :rolleyes2::confused::confused:Dr. Charles Morton did my LB at Baptist on Halloween. Down 22 lbs. and looking for a support group or to start a support group in Hendersonville. Just had my 3rd fill and getting bored with chicken. I only lost 1 lb in 6 weeks hoping the fill I got Monday will help. Exercising is my need and I get so bored with it. Need to have someone pushing me. Niecey 0 Posted March 5, 2008 I get bored doing exercise too. We have a treadmill and I have to record programs like Biggest Loser to inspire me as I walk and it helps keep my mind on something else. I'm still waiting on insurance but going to Dr. Morton. Did he have you do any preop diet before surgery?

anjelinaj 0 Posted March 21, 2008 Hi nayray :success1: Dr Hodge is totally awesome!! Of the 2 in that office, you have chosen the right one. Wouldn't give you a plug nickle for the other one. I am an RN and work with these guys so not only am I a patient, but I am also a co-worker of them. Needless to say, I get the inside scoop for sure:biggrin: Good luck and email me or pm me if you need to. I would be glad to talk to you more. Hey guys! So cool to see people from the Tri-Cities on this site. i think I am addicted. My consult is in June with 'the other one' and now I'm thinking i should switch. I got Dr W's name from a friend-where she got it I don't know. My PCP got me the appt, because I said Dr W--Should I/can I switch to Dr. Hodge????

nayray13 0 Posted March 24, 2008 hey, if it makes you feel better, i have Dr. Hodge, but i have heard really great things about Dr. W...and he had a month longer waiting list than Hodge....he taught Hodge the procedure from what i understand....now what i have heard also, is that hodge has a better bedside manner...but to each his own....i think you will be fine with either one of those guys....i work with a lot of nurses that have let both doctors perform surgical procedures on them, so heard good about both...hope this helps a little, nay
GREATFUL 24 Posted March 24, 2008 I am in Murfreesboro and was banded 12-5-07 by Dr Eckles and Middle TN Medical Center :biggrin:Brooke:smile: Banded: 12/5/07  Hey Brooke, I was banded by Dr. Eckles, 05/02/2007. It has been a great experience for me. Good Luck Laura
taz 2 Posted March 24, 2008 Yes, I think Dr. W tries very hard to support. Some people are just naturely better at it. He just doesn't have much time for nonsense. I think I will be very frustrating to him if I don't improve my eating habits. Today is my first fill. I will absolutely make no cofessions.
anjelinaj 0 Posted March 25, 2008 How's it go, taz?
taz 2 Posted March 25, 2008 My fill went pretty well. It was a little more traumatic than I expected. I think the nurse who did it was fairly new to the office and possibly a bit new at doing fills too. It is probably not one of the fun jobs for the office. I laid back over a pillow. It took her a bit to find the port so she poked around a bit with her fingers. When when she started to fill it I started to talk and she said don't talk now. Her 'speech' tickled me because it definitely had a rehearsed sound to it. Like I said before I gave no confessions. This seemed to throw her too because I got the impression she had another speech ready. She was cute in her enthusiasm to help and give information. I do seem to have some restriction from the fill which is nice. I have hope again. I also went back to weight watchers today and was told to call back if I wanted another fill after a week. That was also a relief. Thanks for asking.

taz 2 Posted March 26, 2008 You have done great. I didn't see Dr. Woodman today when I went in. Did he come in when you had your fill? Did you also lay back over the pillow. I just found out recently he took out two of my cousins gallbladder in January as well as mine...lol. Have you been able to go to any of the support groups? I understand there is one Thursday night. As was said in the movie "Galexy Quest". "Never give up...Never surrender!" My dh says I'm easily amused.
plum 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Dr. Woodman is my dr. Don't get me wrong he is serious about you doing your part and following the program but so far he has been very nice to me and supportive.... From everyone I have talked with about him and my own experience... he is a fabulous surgeon... I have not had any complications whatsoever... I've lost 21 pounds since surgery... so together... we must be doing something correctly...
