BDME 138 Posted November 11, 2017 Before my VSG when I️ was feeling sluggish or heavy I️ would drink Smooth Move tea, or take an herbal laxative to “clean my system” out. Any word if this is still safe after surgery?

If you make anything in the fortnight post-surgery runnier than it's already likely to be, you might be pumping through a lot of gas and liquid. It was about nine or ten days post surgery that my BMs returned to some sort of normalcy.
bellabloom 2,467 Posted November 12, 2017 It’s fine if you past the early stages of surgery. But take care because laxatives will bind you up worse. After wls Constipation can be a really bad issue. Try some milk of magnesia and Fiber pills and plenty of Water. Get on a good bowel regime and talk to your doctor.
Rainbow_Warrior 996 Posted November 12, 2017 You can add a couple of teaspoons of BENEFIBRE/BENEFIBER to your drinks or bottles of Water if you really feel you need it.

dreamingsmall 1,125 Posted November 13, 2017 Eating something you shouldn't have.. followed by the urge to use laxatives? Worrying. Be safe. Your quite early our just try and focus on not eating the things you shouldn't so you won't feel sluggish .. it won't last long. Hope you feel better.
