barwick411 4 Posted November 10, 2017 I had VSG on November 8th. The day of my surgery and the day after, I could not hold down even a sip of Water. Of course, my mind started with the 'why did you do this to yourself" "this was an elective surgery". I did have to stay an extra night in the hospital but Praise the Lord I am home this evening the 10th. The pain in my stomach is there but bearable. When I drink water, it feels like it gets stick and burns, which then leads to vomiting. So, this evening I am working on a Protein Shake - gotta get 4oz per hour of liquids! I know each day will be better than the one before! So glad the surgery is over 1 MrsJones215 reacted to this

Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted November 11, 2017 Good luck. It gets better. Do you have an anti-nausea patch or medicine? It helps. Also try warm tea, or room temp Water or cystal light, or popsicles - sometimes you have to experiment with the temperature. Keep at it.
