James Marusek 5,244 Posted November 10, 2017 This morning, I read a humorous article titled Man Boobs From Hoppy Beer? An 'Earth Poet' Says Yes, Science Says No. https://www.acsh.org/news/2017/11/01/man-boobs-hoppy-beer-earth-poet-says-yes-science-says-no-12061 But it does bring up an interesting topic. For several decades prior to my RNY gastric bypass surgery, I had enlarged breast. As a man this is rather embarrassing condition, especially when I go to the YMCA for a swim. According to this article When the enlarged breasts are a result of obesity it is called pseudogynecomastia. I am now over 4 years post-op and my breasts have returned closer to their normal size. Has anyone else noticed this effect? 2 DropWt4Life and FluffyChix reacted to this

DropWt4Life 957 Posted November 10, 2017 I had moobs as well, but they are gone now, thank goodness. I read that an increase of estrogen and decrease of testosterone was a cause of that. I stopped drinking out of plastic bottles unless they were BPA free, because I also read that it can resemble estrogen and contribute to moobs. I don't know how credible this is, but as we age and put on weight, we tend to grow them at the same time most of us lose testosterone. It makes sense that these could be related, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I was lucky that I always worked on my chest. I had a good layer of fat on top, but had the muscle to fall back on once the fat cells shrunk.
BigViffer 3,544 Posted November 10, 2017 Also, the prevalence of soy Protein in many products has been linked to moobs. I don't know how true it is, but I also don't buy soy supplements. I avaoid them because of their low bioavalabilty in regards to muscle recovery post lifting. 1 BigTink2LilTink reacted to this

At least mine are soft. ROFL! Big Tex, you and I will probably get more weight off than we've set our goal. It did tighten with exercise. I always swam/swim in a rash vest.

Batcap 22 Posted November 13, 2017 I had moobs before my female classmates have, I worked out and nothing seemed to work. I'm 8 weeks into my 12 week pre-op period and am hoping for a January Bypass Surgery. I reached a level of acceptance of them but am holding out a little hope that once the surgery is done they may decrease....

Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app Humor is the best way to deal with this! Thanks for the laugh. My moobs are perhaps the only thing that I am really self conscious about. The rest of my body, well, I could give less of a ****. But those man titties need to go. 1 Batcap reacted to this
