admrn 25 Posted November 9, 2017 I just researched some of the medicine I am still on and the say they cause weight gain. I am 3 weeks post op and now scared to death these meds are going to slow me down in my weight loss journey. My goal is to be off all my meds as the weight comes off but until then is it sabotaging my weight loss? Does anyone else have this concern?
MrsHTX 51 Posted November 9, 2017 yes. I feel like a major part of the reason I was overweight in the first place was from years of steroids for asthma. After a year of being off the steroids the weight didnt come down much so I had surgery. Now I'm always worried that i may have to go back on it for an extended period of time. So far since the surgery I've only had to take it for about a week at a time, but I'm always worried that it may cause me to gain again. Luckily that hasn't happened. Maybe it has slowed me down a little but I really can't say for sure. The good thing is that my asthma is much better now so hopefully I can avoid it going further, but it is definitely a concern of mine.
