Anyone had Lapband in NC??

Has anyone out there had the Lap-band done in Asheville, Hickory, or Charlotte North Carolina?

I have checked out Asheville and Hickory and I think most of what they do is a scam to make money for the Psc. Evaluation Doctor and charge big money for the Medically supervised diet.. HELP!!! Tell me what to do?? Thanks,

Hi there. I just registered for this site today. I saw your post, and wanted to reply to it. I had my lap band surgery on Monday, 10-15-07. My surgeon is Dr. Gary Robinson in Statesville, NC. The ENTIRE process has been excellent. I started the process in August with the seminars. In September, I had my pre-op evals. The total cost for all evals (psych, nutrition, and surgical) was $610. I self paid for my surgery, because my insurance would not pay for it. I would HIGHLY recommend that you talk to Dr. Robinson's lap band coordinator if you are considering the surgery.
