Rawlinos 14 Posted November 9, 2017 Hi all so excited that surgery is nearing on the 14th of November and I have almost finished this liquid diet, I got everything lined up except I'm not sure if I'll qualify for Ca state disability or who I talk to about getting it. I have a physically demanding job that requires heavy lifting and repetitive motion so doc says I'll probably be out 3-4 weeks, I have some $ saved up but if I could get short term disability it would really help get through this time. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Klynngetsfit 42 Posted November 9, 2017 Not sure how it works in CA, but I pay for short term disability through my job. I know that after 8 days off I'll qualify. Do you have STD through your job?
jenngetsthin 61 Posted November 10, 2017 If you live in CA and you have worked at your job for over 12 months (there may be other qualifications such as size of company, etc.), you should qualify for CA disability. I use it every time I have a medical leave. You should contact HR at your job and they should be able to give you the paperwork or a person to speak with the start the process. Good luck. Geri Marie 235 Posted November 11, 2017 Yes, a note stating you can't perform your job will qualify you. You will need to prepare for 7 days of no income, then they qualify you. Good luck
