8 weeks post op thursday

Recommended Posts

i' m sure there are a lot of people here going thru the same things. I was wondering if anyone else at 7 weeks post op can pretty tolerate anything, i have been staying on course and have lost 40 lbs give or take 2 lbs fluctuation but it seems slow in general maybe my expectations are to high for to much to fast. I go to the gym 4 times a week i walk two miles and have started working on some toning machines. i noticed my hunger is starting to come back and though i cant tolerate the amount of food i was eating i fear 5-6 ounces i can tolerate now at times sometimes 2-4 ounces will eventually grow. i stop myself and follow the program . i am getting my Protein as i should as well as Water requirements. i just don't want to have done this for nothing. I feel frustrated i am not losing more rapidly sometimes not at all. Anyone else had this problem? One thing i don't much care for are all the judgey people i have met so far along this journey. its all a learning experience.

I was sleeved on 9/21, too. I can tolerate every food I have tried. I typically can eat around 3 oz. of a meal with dense Protein. I can easily eat a 5 oz. yogurt, though, or a small bowl of Soup. You are supposed to be able to eat more as time goes on, so don't worry about that! You can't survive on 3 oz meals forever. :) Try not to compare yourself to anyone else - you have lost 39 lbs and are doing great! I definitely understand your fear, though, because there are days I worry that I am losing too slowly or eating too much, too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
