Mariah Carey was reportedly sleeved

Body shamers are horrible. But if Mariah feels better & is healthier, I say good for her. https://pagesix.com/2017/11/06/body-shamers-spur-mariah-carey-to-have-weight-loss-surgery/

She is still stupid though and that's not going to change. When she was on American Idol she had nothing to contribute except to let her tits hang out. (This has little to do with WLS, just sayin')

@DaleCruse When celebrities have WLS it raises awareness to the procedures. I love their before and after photos.

@Sosewsue61 Holy hell judgmental. :blink:

I love it when women let their tits hangout. I don’t care what is coming out of their mouth as long as their tits are coming out of their shirt.

Humm after weight loss surgery...I would have to lift my breasts by hand Just to place them out of my shirt.

And on top of that, hers are quite glorious.

Good girl. What I don't like is that many of those superstars actually never tell the truth about the surgery and mainly insisting that they reshaped their bodies through gym and self-control. I really hope people would understand one day, that the surgery is not a "cheating" or the lack of willpower, but the most radical and ultimate measure. We actually gave up what others won't ever be able to - food! ))

Many people that are not celebrities have chosen not to tell anyone. Why would celebs be held to a different standard?

And they have the resources to follow up and be supported afterwards. Makes me jealous

Good for Mariah. Awful that it's spread all over the media. Hoping she has a good recovery.

I agree at some point. Celebrities are people.

But at the same time I never forget, that celebrities are behavior models for many of us. That adds some extra responsibilities - you just can't claim you are doing just sports if you did a VSG - others will be trying to do the same and obviously will fail, piling up depression and diffidence.

Many stars are advertising very questionable health and sports products, saying that this is exactly how they build their bodies. One would say "oh, she did that in 6 months just with a 30 minutes of using that fancy hula hoop, so why can't I?" And in fact, the real reason of stars great results are surgeries, a platoon of dietitians, chiefs, instructors and assistants.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
