:help:hello, not sure where to start,so i geuss i just open up and be honest,i have struggled with my weight for meany years, been told loads of differant stuff by diet groups, diatitions ect...i have been able to lose weight, and i feel like a million dollars, but i never keep it of for long,so,a friend of mine had a lap band put in,at that time i was slim and felt great, the sound of an operation sounded extream, but then i put all my weight back on[well most of it anyway]i was 112 1/2kgs when i had my op,my heaviest was 130.im now around 96 1/2kgs since my op on the 19/7/07.i had my procedure done in geraldton w.a,by paul flanagan[really nice person],but we had to move so now i go to murdoch in perth and see dr watson.i only have 3 1/2 ml in[over 2 appointmeants]i dont feel any restriction, wich i told watson,he put in 2 1/2 ml the first time, then 1 1/2 the next,i felt disapointed as i thought he was going to put in 2 1/2 like last time[is this normal]any way,i was just feeling down as finding it hard to get motivated and i feel no restriction at all,its like i didnt even have a lap band put in?friands say i wont have restriction til about 6ml?,its sad,it feels if you put in an effort you get less Fluid in due to the fact that you lost weight, even when you have had to work hard.any way,if anyone has any advice,i would greatly appreciate it,also,i probably shouldnt, but is pepsi max a big no no due to it being fizzy,i had some the other day,it was nice, especialy when its hotting up,was worried about streching the band, thats all for now, thanks for reading, maybe we can help each other.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
