born2speakmirth 0 Posted November 7, 2017 I live in Ohio and have Caresource (Medicaid) insurance. I jumped through all the hoops and went to a cardiologist, a dietician, physical therapy, pyschologist, gastroenterologist, had a scope down my throat and everything. It was nine months of appointments and hoops. I have now been denied twice. My only hope is that the peer to peer convinces them. I am currently at 49.44 BMI and they denied me because my BMI was below 50 and I didn't have a comorbidity that was poorly controlled. I guess my question is if anyone has gained weight to get a higher BMI and then been approved? My doctor seems to think that if I gain weight at this point they won't approve it because it will show that I don't actually want to lose weight.
UndercoverDiet 57 Posted November 10, 2017 I don't have any advice because my insurance excludes anything bariatric related. So I am going the self pay route. I just wanted to tell you to not give up. You are obviously determined because you went through all the work to get as far as you have. Keep fighting the fight!
