Today o got a Call from Gastro stating he will speak to surgeon. Has anyone experience roux stasis syndrome? Anyone have information. I'm assuming that's what I have. I had a gastric emptying study that showed that my food is sitting in my small intestine for a very long time, so I am having a revision on November 20th. Definitely wish they had found it before I had to live with it for 15 years, but glad to filly get it taken care of. Good luck to you! !

I'm not sure what it's called, but my surgeon has been doing a lot of research on it and said he "is probably the only surgeon performing it." I dunno. I had a gastric emptying study, and food is stalling in the small intestine for a very long time, activating hormones. From what I understand, it's almost like you're keeping your body in starvation mode so it tries to hold onto every calorie.

My surgeon is going to shorten my small intestine, which they now know should have been done with my initial surgery, but had no idea about it 15 years ago. :-)

I am 11 days out, and am having a hard time. Surgery went perfect, did great in the hospital. Came home and started throwing up. Constantly. Every night it would start, go all night into morning. Had to have iv fluids several times. I was up to smooth liquids phase. Dr. Moved me back to Clear Liquids only. Had a barium swallow test yesterday and found I was constantly refluxing. Back to Dr. For more fluids. He thinks due to inflammation the Fluid in drinking isn't draining quickly enough & it's backing up, hence the vomiting. Now I am only allowed popsicles & ice chips for the next few days to see if the swelling goes down. I am feeling pretty down at this point. Anyone else have anything similar? Thanks for any input/advice.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
