Brandeis 401 Posted November 7, 2017 It still is uncomfortable for me at almost a year out -- but only if I eat too fast, or too much, or eat and drink at the same time. If you go slow, are careful, and chew everything well, it'll be better. 4 mellymel50, Sherry Rice, cindyRH and 1 other reacted to this
temkins 71 Posted November 8, 2017 From what I've learned reading through this forum, this is a very common issue, which mostly gone after a year or even more. I think by that time people just got used to eat properly and accordingly to their new stomach - little bites, 2-3 minutes in between, small portions etc etc. 5-6 weeks post-op we are still using our original eating habits - too fast, too much and too careless. My comfortable lunch now takes about 1.5 hours - and that for a single cup of mushy foods. If I try eating it faster, it retaliates with pain. 2 Half-Tum and Sherry Rice reacted to this
Sullie06 1,013 Posted November 9, 2017 It took about 3 months for me to start to feel comfortable eating again. Now I have no issues unless I have a bit to much food or I eat super fast. Normal every day eating doesn't give me any discomfort. 2 cindyRH and Sherry Rice reacted to this
Sherry Rice 184 Posted November 10, 2017 I keep messing up and drinking right after or during. Eeeek! My stomach reminds me by retaliating and making me feel awful. I guess its a learning process. Im still super happy I decided to get VSG. Cheers5' 5"HW: 259CW: 237GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish? 1 cindyRH reacted to this
cindyRH 39 Posted November 10, 2017 I have not regrets either! It is definitely a new way of life with eating but I am embracing it!
