rln52 136 Posted November 6, 2017 Want to get back on track and lose the weight. Any help, advice etc is appreciated. I find that I don't even remember how I was eating when I lost weight. I would like to know how others manage their diet. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Clementine Sky 708 Posted November 6, 2017 I find MyFitnessPal to be very helpful, because by being in the habit of writing down what you're consuming, you're making yourself more mindful about your choices. I don't follow a strictly low-carb diet because I find that it's too restrictive for me to sustain, but I do try to go for lower carb (under 100 grams a day), and by keeping track of what I'm eating, I can better stay within the range. There are other similar apps, but that's the one I use. If you do a keyword search of VSG on Instagram or Pinterest you can find a lot of posts, and many are meal plans or pictures of meals. I've gathered a lot of ideas and inspiration there. On YouTube there's also recipes, grocery hauls, and other videos of that sort by people who've had the VSG and are showing what works for them. 1 rln52 reacted to this
Queen of Crop 1,104 Posted November 9, 2017 Clementine Sky's suggestions are good ones. I would also recommend the 5:2 plan. Just Google it and you will see. In a nutshell it's eating 500 calories or less 2 days a week. Not terribly hard because it's only 2 days and not consecutive. I am 6 years out and have gained 10 lbs. I reached my goal weight after one year. I would love to go to a BACK ON TRACK retreat if anyone knows of something like that. I live in Europe but would be willing to travel. Good luck to us!
