Four days out and lots of pain at night

Recommended Posts

My biggest question is... when does the pain stop and how long were you on pain meds. It seems like the pain is getting worse in some ways. Or that it just feels more sore. Just wanted some reassurance that this is normal. I’m doing really well with recovery... as long as I keep taking the pain meds. I’m walking frequently and following instructions. I’m also tolerating liquids really well.

At night though, I’m waking up with sharp pains that come on their own and I’m also waking up when I move from the pain. Is anyone else going through this? My doctor recommended a mineral oil enema. I used one yesterday and it helped but didn’t stop the pain at all. I also woke up with thrush this morning. Ugh. Using some natural remedies to heal that. Thanks for the feedback

I had thrush, it went away in a week on its own with continuing to push liquids - I did have to take that orange pill for a UTI though for a few days.

I took pain meds at night for a back/hip pain but it was several days after surgery and used a heating pad on and off as well. I am 13 days out and much improved in that area. More walking helped all of that as well.

Hang in there.

Thank you. I do find that walking during the day helps to relieve the pain in the daytime. It’s just at night where it gets severe. And the Lortab 5’s are not cutting it for me.

Try Gas-x I was waking up with sharp pains and it’s gas that is built up . I got the chewable ones and they go down fine and is approve by my surgeon. I would double check with yours I’ve been sleeping through the night once I take the gas-x

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
